I don't think anybody would want to play against Astro... He would hit a home run every time he would be at bat! He's got the strength and the speed to make the big hits, and with his perfect computerized vision, he is capable of knocking the ball out of the baseball stadium every single time! Most humans would hate to have him on the opposing team, although everyone would love to have him on their own team, for sure! I think Astro would be a tremendous athlete, no matter what sport he played. If he were on a baseball team, there would be no way that team would have a losing record...

Absolutely!

It would make a fun story idea where one of his buddies from school were to have Astro fill in for a player on the baseball team. The regular player is sick with the flu, and the team is short one player. Astro suits up in a baseball uniform, and walks up to home plate with a bat in hand. He connects on the very first pitch and knocks the ball into the stands, hitting his first home run, easily! Later on, one of the players on the opposing team remarks that Astro is a robot, and the team had an unfair advantage by letting Astro play for them. Astro tries to play a little "weaker", but he's so perfect, that it's hard to do, and he makes another hit. This time, the ball sails over the wall, and he scores another home run. The team wins easily, but the opposing team's coach complains. Astro is told he can't play anymore. He no longer plays, and he's saddened. The coach decides to allow him to practice with the team after all, and Astro ends up helping the other players sharpen their skills! So, Astro is still a big help to the team after all...

Just an idea...

There is a similar topic in D.A.R.Y.L., where the hero (who is a robot but no one even himself knows it) wins too easily in a baseball match. Seeing how it is not well perceived by other people, he decides to downplay so much that he loses. It is later explained by scientists studying him (who know he is a robot) by an unexpected way of optimisation by his artificial intelligence algorithm, targeting social instead of raw performances (they had hopped for the later).
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
