Interesting thread; I suppose I had a preconceived notion that this show would be like the '09 movie, but in skimming over the thread, I now wish I had been viewing it regularly.

I just watched e 3 on youtube, & found it rather annoying, being made for viewers whose attention span is measured in seconds. Characters were cute, though.

A.D.D stands for Attention deficit disorder. It’s often characterized by difficultly in completing tasks even when the person wants to complete it. However, there are various characteristics that define A.D.D .

Dannavy, I really hate to act like a mod or to change the subject to something social justice related (because it’s against the rules), but please don’t use A.D.D. as a punch-line to your joke. People do have this condition throughout their lives and get discriminated because of other people’s arrogance. Therefore, it’s insensitive to treat A.D.D. as a joke.

I'm sure Dannavy did not intend to be insensitive towards persons with A.D.D or A.D.H.D and I'm sure that he and everyone here will avoid doing so in future topics.

Being that as it is further discussion on the discrimination of such people through the lack of proper education of the true nature of the condition is highly discouraged on this forum, we don't want any arguments or more hurt feelings.

Back on the topic at hand I already mentioned when the first episode aired that I did not like the pacing what-so-ever, that it was so saturated with dialog it was distracting. I remember watching a documentary on animation 10 years ago back when I wanted to be an animator and one of the animation rules that writers had was to "don't saturate the animation with dialog, there is such a thing as too much"

It might just be that lots of dialog is what hooks little kids more.

I just can't find it in me to complain about this show. No matter what angle I look at it, I'm just amazed at how good it turned out for what it was. Not to mention it only took 11 years to get a new Astro Boy series (and there was a Hollywood movie in there somewhere too). Anything no matter how less than excellent it might be is still better than nothing at all.

It's a trend more than anything I think, some of the most successful cartoons were not so faced-paced, it's more of a show of lack-of-experience when it comes to writing for cartoons I think. But I could be wrong.

The pacing for me is the only thing that really bothers me, the rest; the quality of the animation, the jokes, the feel all make me smile.
