Microphone to the DSemulator help?

Postby tailz » 10 years ago

So, I just got my computer microphone today in the mail, and so I went to plug it in to my laptop and when I started my DSesume (DSemulator) and started my game, the microphone didn't appear to work. (In the past, I didn't have a microphone at the time and I had to blow in the mic. on Black Jack Hi no Tori Hen to perform CPR. Apparently, I have a Computer Mic now and it still doesn't work. :shifty: )

And trust me, I've tried everything on my laptop just to make it work. And it does work perfectly fine and the quality of the microphone is very clear, but for some reason, it just doesn't work with my DSemulator. I went to the control panel and adjusted the sound and voice settings, and nothing happend. I checked on my DSemulator for the microphone settings. I have tried all of them, and it still didn't work. I even looked up some info online on how to do it, and again, it did not help or work. The mic. is set up, but it doesn't appear to work on my game. I'm not sure if its just Black Jack: Hi no Tori Hen, that doesn't work or just the Computer mic. itself.

I have also downloaded another Emulator called NO$GBA, and when I downloaded it, the game appeared to not work at all and said that it could not read the game card. No$Gba can let you blow into the mic. with easy access, but it doesn't appear to work on my laptop at all what so ever. Also, once I downloaded it, I got some random Add on called Mysearchdial, which I did not want in the first place, but it appeared to download anyways. Can someone please help? I have been trying for hours and hours on end, and I have tried almost everything I could just to make it work. I am lost and really need some help here. Thanks!

Maybe something with the source of the sound? Your mic and your microphone may not be considered as the same source, and softwares may just use the default source (the mic). What is your operating system?

I would try redownloading both the emulator and the game, do a complete re-install and try again. If it still doesn't work (or if you have done that already) try getting another game that uses the same feature. If it still doesn't work then it's probably an issue with the emulator itself, especially if the microphone works just fine on all other applications.

Just to be sure, you could try by changing your default source. On Windows XP, you have to right-click on the "audio" icon on the lower-right of your task bar, and on the menu that pops up you click on "adjust audio properties". On the dialog box that appears, click on the "audio" tab. On the middle of the box, you should have a "audio record" with a list box allowing to select the default source. If you have several choices, select a new one, click on "apply" on the lower-right of the box and try if DSEmu get it right. If not, choose another one. When done, especially if it didn't change anything, put the original option back so everything is back to normal.
