Re: All about the Mighty Atom Club Magazines (1964-66)

I feel I need to post all the covers of "Mighty Atom Club" magazine like I did 8 years ago this month, but now with information we now have from BrutalDawnFawn, Jeffbert and myself re: issues that were thought to contain no "Mighty Atom" manga because they were not listed in any ...

Re: Astroboy 80s Press Releases

Yes, "Hige Oyaji" was also known as "Albert Duncan" and "Daddy Walrus" was given as a sort of nickname in the American dub of the 1980s series. In the same way Hige Oyaji's real name was given as "Shunsaku Ban" in the original Japanese manga and anime. In the ...

Re: Astroboy 80s Press Releases

Zoran, as I know it is the name used for Uran in the English dub of the 2003 Astro Boy series. I do not know of this name being used in any other dubs. In the Canadian dub the name Sarah is used for Uran. And of course in the 1963 original American dub for Uran (which is short for Uranium) she is gi...

Re: We've suffered a great loss..... :-(

I just learned of the passing of AprilSeven! While I did not know her personally we often exchanged info on this site. I even sent some information to her re: some of my posts on this site. I even wished her "happy birthday" a few times as our birth dates were not that far apart! Let me ex...

Re: All about the Mighty Atom Club Magazines (1964-66)

Al right! I just want to put this out there! Since Dr. Tezuka did not draw any of the manga stories in the "Mighty Atom Club" magazine according to what is said in the introductory pages in vol. #17; because of the manga artists who later became famous and drew stories that were published ...

Re: All about the Mighty Atom Club Magazines (1964-66)

BrutalDawnFawn asked:It makes me wonder where Tezuka-in-English got its information from to think that some atom magazine issues didn't have chapters. Maybe they didn't want to re-release these for one reason or another and pretended they didn't exist? Maybe Tezuka changed his mind? Oh well, we may ...

Re: All about the Mighty Atom Club Magazines (1964-66)

Hi, BrutalDawnFawn! I guess you missed the previous post where Jeffbert confirmed for me that issues 10/65 & 11/65 featured a two part adaptation of the anime episode, "The Boy from Outer Space/The Mighty Mite from Ursa Minor!" Yes the 11/65 episode may be a heretofore not known Atom m...

Re: All about the Mighty Atom Club Magazines (1964-66)

BTW Have you seen these?: atom club reprints.jpg I believe these contain "Mighty Atom Club" manga reprints. I believe they were put out by the same company that put out the 7 box set that reprinted the original Atom manga as published by Kobunsha.. I have been unable to find much more abou...
