Yeah, the Japanese release looks indeed drool-worthy:

Unlocking a region-locked DVD might fall under the Edit: For the record, I frequently bought foreign-region DVDs and unlocked them with a region-free DVD reader, so I am not forging excuses for myself :p ... and I don't live in the USA. I'm pretty sure it's legal to use a region-free DVD reader and...

Well there are still anime series been released on DVD in the USA, which are been spread over several volumes, with similar pricing per volume. The English DVD release doesn't make a good comparison, considering how much was changed in the English version. While this is true, the key here is that t...

The Japanese DVDs aren't that high cost, they are currently been offered at $36.41 US per volume at CDJapan . There are still many animated titles released on DVD in the USA, which offer about the same amount of content (time wise), for a similar price. That's nearly $500.00 for all 13 volumes. Yes...

MegaAstroFan75, oh I definitely still see the dub as worth owning even though I like the Japanese content much better personally. I'm quite enjoying watching and comparing the two versions. I can see someone liking the dub's attitude better even though I don't personally. As already mentioned, I do ...

Dr. Tenma, yes, that's the cut US series. I got my copy on Amazon (even a bit cheaper than FYE), and it's certainly worth it for that I'd say just for the English voices. But of course that's the cut up version, not the Japanese uncut one. As far as your cool Astro things on eBay idea, I like it. =)

Cool ideas - hehe - a Hyoutantsugi would be awesome! My one request for a new series would be a return of the hip (butt) guns. I haven't finished 2003 yet, so maybe they're there, but I haven't ever seen any clips of them in the 2003 series so far. Those are definitely fun and could lead to comic re...

Yes, the MANGA US set has episodes in both English audio and Japanese audio with English subtitles. It's a really nice set - only thing really lacking is the 2-episode Japanese pilot that the Australian Madman set has. (But I don't believe the Madman set has the Japanese audio for most episodes; onl...

While I'm sure there are some copies floating around that surface occasionally (I know there were a few individual disc copies possibly available on the TezukainEnglish forums), it's pretty unreasonable to expect many people to be able to find/afford these IMO. I eventually was able to find part of ...
