I was looking over the list of stuff that I've "published" up on fanfiction.net, and was shocked to find that two of the stories, "A Eureka Moment" and "Who Mourns for Methuselah" are both nearly at novel length (assuming you define the minimum number of words in a novel to be about 50K, as NaNoMo does. There are some books recognized as Novels that are a bit under that length, such as Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451). Both of my mentioned stories are within 3500 words of that 50K threshold. Wow.
By the way April7, your story is approaching 45K in length, and seems you're still a ways from wrapping up all the loose ends. I predict (if you ever get off your butt and finish this story) that you will reach the magic 50K and have written an actual novel.
Dan's last FF.NET post, the "Fiery and the Furious" was well over the Novel length threshold at 66k+ in length.
