Astro as R-Tanaka, a character from Kyukyoku Chojin R, a comedy series by Masami Yuuki. It was about a dopey-yet-friendly android who loved rice and started going to a normal high school (where he befriended, and later became the love interest of, an energetic girl whose name I can't remember).

I was wondering what the 1980's series would be like if it were adapted by NOW! Comics, but realized it would be pretty scary, considering the "changes" they liked to put in...

Just a quick sketch. It's my first time drawing Astro so I know he's not exactly on-model =P It'll eventually be painted, with a background, but it's late XD

I know it's an awkward pose, but he's actually flying. I just haven't drawn the jets yet, since that'll all be added when I paint it. Kind of based on the moment he's learning to fly but hasn't quite got the hang of his jets yet. It'll make more sense when it's finishe
