Story idea based on "The Mysterious Cities of Gold"

Does anybody remember this Anime? It was a joint Japanese - French production. The theme was one of history, adventure, and science fiction.

I have had this head canon idea for a 3 way crossover between this story, and Indiana Jones. It would take place around 1970, with Indiana now in his 80's (at least!), but looking like a man in his 60's (from drinking from the Holy Grail?).

He is still working at the University and at the Museum, but hasn't been on an expedition in years. Then the museum receives a donation from a wealthy individual in Barcelona. It is a collection of objects that were in the family since the 16th century that were brought back from the new world by an ancestor who was a navigator on a Spanish Galleon. Among the objects are several sun medallions, and a strange looking golden mirror.

The medallions appears to be made of glass with gold inlay. It is a round object with a golden disk of the sun in the middle and many golden spikes or rays of the sun radiating out of the center, but they don't touch the sun disk. The back side of the medallion is solid gold.

The mirror is a flat plate of gold on one side and a dark, almost jade like surface on the other that glistens like gold when held at an angle to the light.

Under careful examination by Jones, and an Engineer (his son!) the dark surface of the mirror is found to be covered by a thin (almost microscopic)layer of gold and that the jade like material is a unique semiconductor. The 'mirror' is actually a 99% efficient solar cell!

One of the sun medallions is carefully taken apart. The gold sun disk is removed from the glass disk, and it is discovered to be a protective cover for what is inside, an integrated circuit computer chip!

Indiana Jones and son now travel to Mexico and South America to search for any clues to the lost civilization that could build these high tech wonders not possible in 1970! In a cave sealed for centuries by a past volcanic eruption they find many of the objects mentioned in the "MCOG" story, plus something else .... I am leaving THAT bit of my head canon a secret for now, but ....
