Last night as I was flipping through TV channels, I saw the tail end of a documentary about the state of current robot technology that was using Astro Boy imagery throughout, posters, video footage of parades with people dressed up as Astro, footage from the original black & white series, inflatable Astros... toy Astros... I emailed the station, which is a New York city cable station only showing programs from 10PM till 12AM on Sunday night, and specializing in Japanese programming: http://www.entel-TV.com
Does anybody know what the name of that documentary is, and how one can get a copy?
Astro on Intel
This is the reply I got from Entel TV...
So I called the Japan Embassy in DC.
A kind lady said she would help me track it down...
I also replied to Emi Katsumoto asking him for a little bit more information.

Dear Remy C.
Hello. Thank you for watching Entel TV. I got your message about Astroboy. Real Title is Happy Birthday Astroboy! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan ordered to produce this documentary. This is not produced for making profit. Therefore, I can't sell it and nobody can sell it.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. I hope you will enjoy Sakura.

Hello Remy
As I mentioned in my first response, all rights hold by the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Even thought you contact to the production company, you would not get it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what company made it.

Can you then perhaps be kind enough to send us the name of the production company for the Astro Boy program? And let us ask them directly if they might be interested in providing a copy?

Hello, Rem
Unfortunately, we do not have any right of the program. Therefore, we are not allowed to sell or copy to anybody. The program "Astroboy" was the second air on Entel. So, there is no re-air on Entel. This program intends to air some media companies like Entel. It does not intend to sell or copy to individuals. I think you have no way to obtain the copy.

If you can't sell it, can you give me a copy? Or tell me if and when you plan on airing it again? Or who I could contact at the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain a copy?

Dear Entel,
Last night, after show Sakura, you show documentary about Astro Boy and real robot technology progress. What is name of documentary? Who made documentary? How can one buy? I'm big fan of Astro Boy. Very sorry impossible to get original TV show on DVD in America!
Also sorry new Astro Boy series cancelled by both WB and Cartoon Network. They are very stupid!
