There are small but significant differences. Your statues are based on the series from 2000. Here is a picture of Astro from the 1980 serie:

I don't have any from the 1960, but I'm sure jeffbert could provide some. Unless someone else beat me on this, as soon as I have some time I will do some screenshots from the 1960.
