I like your page; however,
Call me a nit picker (too much attention to detail), but your
My Astro Webpage has some factual errors.
The legendary Japanese animator Osamu Tezuka who was the father of Manga Entertainment, created 'Tetsuwan Atom' (The Mighty Atom, in 1951)
You need to check this date, the Tezuka site lists the 'Captain Atom' series as originating in 'Shonen' in 1951, but I am sure that Tetsuwan Atom did not begin until later in
Gas People, in manga 15, was dated 1952. The character
Ambassador or
Captain Atom was the prototype for Tetsuwan Atom though. Volume 15 contains both stories.
As World War 2 had been over only 5 years ago, Japan was getting to grips with Hiroshima recently being destroyed by the hydrogen bomb
It was an
atom, not a
hydrogen bomb. The difference is fission vs. fusion.
Apart from his famous work about Astro Boy, Tezuka also created Simba, The White Lion, which some people believe was copied without permission by Disney in "The Lion King."
Simba is Swaheli for lion, as such Fred Ladd rejected it as an English name for Leo the Lion. As I understand it, one of his coworkers had a daughter named 'Kim', and they settled on
Kimba as a name that they could protect under trademark or copyright law. B)
