Astroboy Costume

Hi I just thought i would post pics of the Astroboy costume i made. It took 1 month to make the head, and another month to make the body. Hope you like it. Enjoy

I was thinking today about making an Astroboy costume. What did you make it out of?

To make this costume, i started with the head. I got a large balloon and paper mache it with 4 layers. I got cardboard and shaped it for the pointy hair pieces and then glued it to the surface and then applied paper mache to that. Then I applied modeling paste all over until smooth, and then i sand papered the surface. Then I applied the paint and details like the ears and nose. The body is all foam. I used cardboard to work out the shapes of the body pieces so it would fit me properly. Once i had the template i could cut the foam pieces. I used hot glue to glue the foam together. To get the colour of the red feet and black pants i used Coloured Vinyl and cut it to fit the foam body pieces. I just glued it to the foam. Thats about it, good luck if you make it
