Trivia:
Besides the thing which they share with other man-made beings, what factor does Atom have in common with the Powerpuff Girls? :D No, I am not talking about their being little kids, who go to school.

I cannot believe I was so vague. This one fact sets them apart from nearly all other super heroes. It is something these little ones lack, although not by virtue of being little.

Interesting topic. They both have waaaayyy too much merchandice. Though if you were to count the individual pieces, i'd say Astro has more.
This gives me an interesting image of Astro having to take on Mojo Jojo!

 hmmm, well i think that it might be that they do not let their size interfere with their abilities. They fight...and win, against villians who can be soooo much bigger than they are & yet they don't consider that"hey, hes pretty big & im only 3ft high....Oh crumbs"(quoting Penfold from Danger Mouse...another small hero ;) )I think its their faith in self & abilities rather than size!!

I had not thought of that, but no, I was not reffering to that. :(

Here is another hint: the thing that these superheroes lack, is the one thing that most other superheroes believe is absolutely essential. However, it has nothing to do with super powers.

Superman has it, Batman and Robin each have it, Spiderman, X-men, Daredevil, the Green Hornet, the puh-the puh-the punisher all have it. Spaceghost does not have it. :( Sorry for the really old superheroes, but I grew up in the 60s and mid 70s.

The secret identity is correct. :D Without this, super heroes other than our little friends would have no time to relax. Moreover, their friends and families would be targets for vengeful bad guys. Remember that Superman had to maroon people at his Fortress of Solitude, to keep them from revealing his. In the 60s Batman, the issue of protecting the seret identity comes up several times. :D Do you rember the B&W Superman series?

How our little friends get by w/out secret identities is a bit of a mystery, though. There are several instances when they could have benefitted from them: Mojo tries to infiltrate the Utonium house disguised as a little girl; Pluto (Bruton) comes to Atom's home to challenge him to a fight to the death. The big (adult) heroes would never tollerate such intrusions on their personal lives. I think Atom Ant also lacks a secret identity. I remember seeing his ant hill with his mail box next to the opening. "Atom Ant" written clearly on it.
