one thing puzzles my mind, why does osamu tezuka draw police cars to look like dogs on wheels? weird. everything else about the show more or less makes sense.

Tezuka's police cars look more like puppies on wheels, but that design was only found in the manga & 60s anime. I suppose it was just a humorous touch, of which it was one of many featured in the manga & 60s anime.

could be, still the show is still way ahead of most shows today. had lots of pathos wrote into it (the old 60's show) i have not seen the new one.

I find it quite interesting that most machines in astroboy are based of normal animals or bugs. the police cars are dogs, the window cleaning robots are wasps, lots of the larger ships look like whales or big bugs or something and im sure there are more. I dont know how to say this exactly but it sort of says to me that gods design of creatures was perfect and we couldnt create beter so we copied it? like with the wasps. i dont think that came out right but i think you know what i mean, yeah? :huh:
