Currently, I'm in one of those situations where I do not have that much money to spend, and I'm looking at the Astroboy 2003 series. Currently, and I will state this right now, I absolutly refuse to watch the English dub of this. I honestly thinks it's atrocious, that it wasnt released in it's original widescreen format (in the US, atleast) and the fact Sony decided to not use the original music.

Now, I've been currently looking into the Astorboy 2003 boxsets for quite some time now (the Korean boxsets, mind you) and I've been currently wondering if this is worht the money, or if there's a possible cheaper solution for order the series. I do not wish to order "HK" bootlegs. As I do not support these releases. And honestly, never will.

These are the two boxsets I'm currently looking into. So I'm wondering, should I order, or should I not?

I have both the Korean and the english dub...

Get the Korean trust me, it stays faithfull to the story line and has the episodes these idiots left out.

It still ticks me off that they decided to leave the Peter Pan episode out.

The main issue with the said episode, is there's licensing issues with that episode. I'm surprised it was even included on the R2.

EDIT: Also, my main reason for getting the Korean boxset is due to the billingual audio (I'll be mainly watching in japanese)

I just watched the 80s E DVD eps 1-5, & in the Robot Land ep, Peter Pan & C. Hook were both seen, but only briefly, though.

Again, this just has something to do with the rights of each license. Also, the episode itself is basically PETER PAN, and to my knowledge, Disney owns the license to Peter PAn. I'm guessing, while Sony DOES own the license to the episode, they cannot release it due to the said issues. This si why it became a clip show. Actually, it surprises me the R2 included this episode, espeicalyl witht he issues daling with this episode.

However, it's not an overall loss.

Just to make sure, you did notice that it was a bilingual Korean/Japanese audio, right? ;)

I'm starting to consider buying it too.

I did catch Hook, but I've never noticed Peter Pan. But then I've never watched/read any direct story with him, so it's not surprising. I'll try to look for him!

personally i'd get the American release, yeah it has a few edits that suck and its not widescreen, but it is still the same show and not a total hack on the show plus you can get it now for 25$ in AMAZON, that is 50 cents for ever episode, I think its worth it.

No. I already stated I will not get the American version fo the show. If your going to try and swade me to buy that piece of crap, then you're wrong. Listen, I'm both picky about the widescreen issue, and the quality of the dub. So don't even try. So what? I'd rather spend on something that's more pricy and is better quality then something that's cheap and horrid.
