Wow, how old is this thing? The handwriting looks like the same from the 60's series. But if I had that coloring book, I'd color Astro the right colors.
You're not a joke, you fit right in!
So shake it off, and give a grin. Don't be afraid to stand your ground! Crazy, noisy BIZARRE Town!

Yes, that coloring book is one of the items licensed by NBC Films back in the 1960s. It features artwork from different Astro Boy episodes from the original series. Astro Boy's upper body was colored as such on the cover to create the appearance of Astro Boy wearing a T-shirt and not appear naked from the waist up. Yes, while on TV Astro Boy could get away with the appearance of just shorts, there apparently was worry about his seeming lack of clothing. Also the book featured the lyrics to the original Astro Boy cartoon theme song across several of its pages. Stories to be colored included: "The Silver Comet" and "Adventure on Mars"! I  :astro:

That coloring book is great -- and it's so weird that they made such a big deal out of Astro's "uniform" -- heck I WAS a kid, and I didn't see him as "naked" - I mean he's a ROBOT - duhhhh! It's PAINTED ON (my 10 yr old brain could figure that out by the light reflections on his head, belt and butt). I thought he looked "funny" when they put "human clothes" on him. Clothes just get in Astro Boy's way!! One of the things that irked me in the 2009 movie was that fact that "leisure suit" survived all that action with nary a tear. But I digress... thanks for sharing the link to the coloring book

Actually, after taking multiple direct hits with missiles from "Spirit of Freedom" and going through a building, he got a scratch on his pants :p

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
