Ummm, a prequel is a work that supplements a previously completed one, and has an earlier time setting so this would not be Astro Boy 2, per se.

Regardless, these are good comic books. I have the "Movie adaptation" series, also published by IDW in 2009.

The thought of a sequel is a good one anyways.

No . . . wait this book has been around for a couple years - I've read it! It's not really a "prequel" - but it's also not "after" the movie story -- it's very odd!

Unless something on Twitter pointed to an actual movie, I'm afraid you just saw a promotion for the graphic novel (which came out the same time as the 2009 movie).
