Hey, does anyon here know how to translate English into Japanese by any chance? There's a part in my Astro Boy fan fic coming up where two of the characters (I'm not saying who) have an arguement in Japanese.

Yes, I have. I get kanji rather than the words, so that doesn't exactly help me out much.

Babelfish does not give accurate translation. It is only useful to know the global meaning of a text. Do you have already tried to translate a text from a language you know toward another language you know ? ;)
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

Im going to Japan for 6 months on August 31st. So i had to learn a bit of language. I can read and write Hiragana, can do like "man" "mouth" "car" "ricefield" in Kanji. But understanding is a different matter. My Japanese is quite pigeon... Watashi wa Roger Cleverley desu.

Ok, For those of you on the board who are more familliar with Japaneese than I am.. what does "Senpei" mean?

A few friends have started calling me that, and altho I have looked it up and have a rough idea of what it may mean I thought I would ask here anyway.

I have "baka" as silly or foolish.
I have "Gomen" as sorry.
I have "arigatu" as thanks.
I hope thats right.

some words are actually starting to find their way into my everyday vocab. I am not too sure if I should get used to "Sempai" or not tho.

According to a footnote in Trigun #1, page 38, sempai means "senior, upperclassman."

BTW, as with Hellsing, this one also reads from right to left.

Amongst English speakers, otaku generally means a hardcore fan. Like people who dress up as Boba Fett and go to Star Wars conventions are otaku.
In Japan it's more derogatory, like a creepy nerd who never leaves his bedroom and has no social skills.

I found this interesting site:

http://www.takase.com/Names/JapaneseWordListA.htm

It shows english to japanese words through the dictionary.
I'm trying to learn, though. :D
