Re: Confessions thread
I have never watched movies in a theater.
Re: Confessions thread

When I was a kid, Disney movies were pretty much kid-safe, & our parents took us to see whichever ones were playing. Mary Poppins comes to mind, & I suppose 101 Dalmatians also. Eventually, a double theater opened within walking distance.

Re: Confessions thread
I remember the first double feature my parents took me to see as a kid.
"The Fabulous world of Jules Vern", and "Voyage to the bottom of the Sea"

Well, I prefer watching them on television to seeing in theater. In Indonesia there are some channels (FTA analog) which broadcast movies every night. I might have to wait for months or even years to see newest films on TV, but it doesn't matter to me.

Re: Confessions thread
That is fine with me, so long as it makes you happy, Sandi Two. BTW, the last time I was in a movie theater, was the black, white, & bloody red thing about two or three years ago. There are just far too many previews these days, the popcorn is lousy, my eyes are weak, & I usually end up with a smear of 'butter' on my glasses long before the film ends. I will wait for the DVD.
OopS! My brother was here yesterday, & I forgot about the LEGO BATMAN DVD that I have had since last week!
Right now, listening to 1 of 5 CDs featuring the 1812! Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra w/ E. Kunzel. Also have the 1712.

Re: Confessions thread
The current 1812 has lyrics, though, they are in Russian. GOTHENBURG SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. also has Marche Slave, Borodin's Steppes, & Korsakov's Russian Easter--. last track is Tch, the usually filler piece Capriccio espagnol. I skipped it on the 1st CD, & will do so on this one.
next on the stack is the TCH GALA IN LENINGRAD. I am not happy with this one, because the recording is noisy; full of Hiss. Apparently, this was the 1st time the Russians actually performed the 1812 with cannons.
Next James DePriest & the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, with The Tempest & Hamlet before the 1812.
After that, the TIME-LIFE GREAT COMPOSERS series, with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra; Piano Concerto #1 leads, the usual filler piece Capriccio italian
Finally, sometime between tomorrow & Tues, PDQ Bach 1712 & Other Musical Assaults.
I absolutely hate, despise, etc., what has come to pass for a 4th of July celebration. Yes, the 1812 & cannons, but it ain't the whole thing! Seems they needed the 1st 10 minutes of that time for other music, songs, etc.

BTW, this is the 1st time in I don't know how many years, since I even thought about my CDs!

Re: Confessions thread
PDQ Bach? How about his Un-Begun Symphony?
