This is a silly rant... but it's been bothering me for a while...

I'm getting really irritated over the fact that so many people are getting really really REALLY angry over the fact that pluto has been 'stripped' of it's planet status to the point of sending hate letters to astronomers and setting up petitions to 'save' it.

The fact of the matter is astronomers are learning more and more about our universe and our solar system every single year, we have learned so much so quickly that some of our first definitions of things have had be changed (such as what is a planet). Being a planet is not a special status, and it does not erase the astral body from the system.

In the past when people thought of solar systems and orbiting bodies they initially thought that a small number of planets would be in the mix, like our standard 8 bodies. However now that we know so much more of the cosmos scientists are thinking more along the lines of 100 bodies, excluding debris.

Many of these undefined 'plutoids' as they have been called rest on the outer rim of solar systems, large bodies that orbit their stars but have such unique complexities about them that separate them from what scientists now consider to be planets.

The thing is, is that scientists know very little about our cosmos but are learning more, so as such certain definitions are going to change, and even planetary classifications might change (rendering gaseous planets in their own category of non-planet).

It's been bothering me to no end lately.

I'm sick and tired of seeing all the profanity, negative, and dirty comments on the bottom of my favorite videos on youtube.

Well, I mostly watch anime there, and when I scroll down after the video is finished, I see nothing but garbage about them. I mean I don't get it really. If you don't like the series then why look it up? This makes me very angry. Even some of the members who post the video starts to cuss people out. It's disgusting and pointless to me.

I generally try to avoid YouTube comments on popular videos because of that reason. I really wish more people would think before they post on there.

I don't even look at comments really. I will put in my two cents on some things but other than that I'll stay away from that sort of garbage.

Personally I can't stand mentally blind people as a whole, that is people who want (or don't want) Pluto to be a planet out of wanting their own personal representation of the reality to be the Truth, people who want manga comics or anything to be The Best Thing in the World (and anything else be The Thing That Deserve Only The Trash), people who want such or such religion (or absence of religion) to be the Truth, people who want such or such political idea to be the Truth, ... well, you get it: people who can see only one thing to be the only thing that fits the universe and anything else can't fit by definition.

Ugh! I have a pimple on my forehead that's been bothering me all day! I would put a band-aid on it, but then I would look like Sharaku from the three eyed one.

Comments on newspapers' websites are starting to really depress me, too. I try to ignore them now. I can enjoy debates, but when the ideas are supported by facts, not by insults and overgeneralization, even if I happen to have the same opinion than the poster. I've read recently that aggressive and insulting comments have an impact as they tend to polarize people's opinion. And the irony is that I don't know of anyone who ever changed his mind after this kind of discussion.

Today, started out to be a bad day, but later it was okay. Anyways, first I had no choice but to wear my pants that I got for Christmas to school. So I went to school wearing them. And then, when I started to take them off, A bunch of Black fuzz fell off of it. (And I mean a bunch!) It was all over the place. At first, I thought that this was normal for a new pair of pants, but then it just wouldn't stop falling off. I kept on shaking and shaking it and it kept on going. Before I knew it, I was completely surrounded by a pile of Black Fuzz balls! :d oh: Good thing I told my mother about this cause when she found out that there was a huge pile of fuzz on the ground, she went to the store to return them.

Besides that, there was this new kid who transferred from another school, and I really didn't like her much. It's not that I hate her or anything, it's just that she showed off too much and acted like little miss pefect. She was smarter than any of us, and she was obviously showing off her intelligence just to make us jealous. She also wouldn't stop talking and interrupted the class a lot. (This is Biology class I'm talking about here. !) I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I just don't like the person much. Maybe I just need to get to know her first, then things might turn out alright. Though, I'm very shy around others in the real world.

But besides all that, today turned out okay. !

I used to get accused of 'showing off' my intelligence all the time in high school when really I didn't intend to. It may be that she feels a bit like I did; that the class just isn't challenging enough and she wants to just move it along at a quicker pace. For me in class things just seemed to go so slowly I just wanted it to be faster because I KNEW the content already and it was literally painful to sit and wait. She might have a very strong thirst for knowledge and a drive to learn, but just may not be in the right class for her level.

It was always a problem for me and I had to be placed in Advanced Placement Classes or College Preparatory classes for me to function at a level that was agreeable for me. Kids that are advanced can have just as many problems as those that are slower and in some ways need just as much care in their placement.

If your school as a good school they should be able to recognize this as a problem and place her in some harder classes that will be more appropriate for her level. You don't after all put a musician who has been playing a cello for ten years in a the first class and expect them to thrive well psychologically.

I 'm starting to feel annoyed now. Now I'm sure that kid is trying to show off on purpose. Today, she kept on complaining on about how she disliked being an upper classman. (Saying it loudly so everyone can hear.) Then, she refused to work on a project cause she already did it last year and shows off by saying she got a straight A on it. Next week, when I enter that classroom, I'm going to say to myself, "Here we go again."
