I think I'm the one person who doesn't find Lion King all that great. When you boil down all the dramatics, it is a VERY simple film.
Amen brother. [/b][/quote]
I am with you two actually. I did not like the Lion King all that much. I don't think it was a bad movie, but it was far from the standard previously set up by The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast (which I believe is still the most sucessful animated movie of all time.. I think..).
I went to the theatre excited like a schoolkid.. and once the opening number of CIRCLE OF LIFE was done I said to the person I was there with "Now THAT was worth the price of admission alone!". Unfortunately after that it VERY quickly denegrated into disconnected remdomness that had nothing to keep you interested.
Oh, and if you think I say that because I am anti-dysney you are very much mistaken. I am actually a huge fan of the mouse, and that only added to my disappointment. In my opinion, Lion King is one of the worst movies their animation branch has come out with, that happens to include three of the most impressive minutes of film I have seen.
