How does one exactly use gifs as avatars?
I'd like to use this one

Do avatars also use the [img]url[/img]?
If so where would i put that?

To use a GIF as an avatar is the same as uploading an image for an avatar: just go into your user control panel and select change avatar and upload an image either from the internet or from your computer.

The problem with this particular gif is that it is too large! The maximum dimensions for an avatar on ABO is 100x100=200kb. So it can only be 100 pixels tall and 100 pixels wide and no larger than 200kbs. It can be 80x70, 99x100 and so on - but it cannot be something like 101x100 or 200x500. It would just be too big.

What Earthshine said is correct. Also, you don't need [img] tags when putting the link in for your avatar.

Can you make the gif smaller on your own? Otherwise, I or another member could help you out in resizing it.

I don't know how to either. I actually just looked up sites to resize gifs on Google and found that one seemed to be the best.
