Got my hands on a copy of the David Pinner novel Ritual (the book that inspired the 1973 Wicker Man film) not too long ago. Shipping took a while, which is a bit odd being that it was in the US, but the wait was worth it. The story is quite ambiguous so far. While it does have a few ties with the film that it inspired, it is still quite different in contrast.

And with that, my Wicker Man collection is complete.

All that's left is the charred remains of the sacrificial altar itself and my collection will be perfect.
Another thing that arrived is the Summerisle T-shirt seen in the center. I got it not exactly knowing what a large would be like. Long story short, I should've bought a medium. While the shoulders do fit the rest is like fitting a bathrobe on a lamppost.

I watched the DVD of Wicker Man a few years ago, & what a plot twist! :d evil:

My turn, I tried to buy the rest of the MIGHTY ATOM '03 DVDs yesterday, but only #11 would ship internationally, so, I still need to get #10, 12, & 13. I did this because Am...JP sent an email about the #1 boxed set, complete with Atom figurine. :D I am just not into figurines, so already having the Korean set, I passed.

BTW, MAGMA TAISHI live-action complete boxed set was priced at over $500! :hyo:

Yeah, I saw it on a vendor's site, & thought it had to be bootleg, as it was just so very cheap, for one thing.

I just bought myself a new desktop computer. I've been using a home built machine with an AMD Phenom II quad core for a few years. I've always built my own from parts but recently ran into a good deal on ebay for a factory reconditioned Dell Inspiron with an i7-4790 processor and 16GB of memory. Naturally, I'll 86 the Windows 8.1 OS on it and replace that with Linux. I'll also add a SSD to go along with the 1TB 'rotating' one for faster boot ups, and a video card for two head operation.

Anybody want a used computer in good shape? I'll be willing to part with my AMD unit reasonably. (Phenom II quad core 3.5Ghz, 12GB ram, 320gb disk, dual head monitor card fast enough for light gaming.) PM me if interested otherwise I'll ebay it eventually.

The Dell PC came with a wimpy 300W power supply, so I upgraded that to a 500W. I added a 128GB solid state hard disk to hold the OS, so now it boots lightning fast. Just installed Linux Mint KDE 17.1 on it, but still need to transfer all my files from the old computer over. (Windows 8.1 is now 'toast'). I added a Nivida NVS300 dual head graphics card to support my two DVI interfaced monitors. I've always given computers on my home network a name with 'Penguin' in them to indicate they run Linux. So this one is now "The_Penguin_In_The_Dell" :w00t:
