Yeah, I'm starting to view public websites like public places. It's like this: you walk into a public area and if you aren't careful you can get sick because of all the germs there because of all the people and like the public websites, you go onto a website and if you're not careful your computer can get the flu because of all the other computers there. I agree with you this site is great it's both "sanitary" and awesome with alot of cool people on it such as your self. I'm starting to have problems with tumble though and I was starting to like that place too... :/

Computer viruses don't jump from computers to computers that way: they don't communicate via a website, and usually can't infect the wensite itself. If I had to guess I would say it is the huge amount of bloated advertising that plagues public websites these days. We don't have advertising here, so no lag

You might get a lot of improvement by disabling flash. Some browsers also have a nice feature: they will launch a flash applet only if you click on it.

Then again it could be that Firefox sucks less under such loading than IE.
