This is another episode that uses many clips from other episodes.
1. guy in car chased (from 42, Yellow Horse):
2. drops coin while car burns (from 42, Yellow Horse)
Notice the dark sleeve of the arm that grabs the coin (far right):
The greatest stain-removing detergent in history! It was dark gray, but now: white!
3. hieroglyphics (#58, Thirteen Mysterious Statues of God (42, The Island of Mystery)):
& also these, through this one.
4. Atom & Shibugaki at studios; Shibugaki bumps guy, who apologizes, & dusts him off (49, Transparent Giant (3D Tee Vee)):
This one may be new:
Our favorite Yakuza is added to these clips from (49, Transparent Giant (3D Tee Vee)).
5. CROOKS threaten TV director (49, Transparent Giant (3D Tee Vee))
6. Skunk flips hat From 6, Lightning Man (7, Zero, the Invisible Robot):
7. nude suit (from 42, Yellow Horse):
8. DRUG STORE, Pharmacist, etc (from 42, Yellow Horse):
9. ROBOT BUILDING, dark corridor (from 42, Yellow Horse):
10. button on wall, sliding door (from 42, Yellow Horse): no image uploaded.
I think Skunk may have been added to that frame, but do not recall, it may have been a new one.
11. x-ray flashlight (from 42, Yellow Horse):
12. Disintegrating Atom’s clothes (also from 42)
13. trap door, goop, & escape from it (42):
I admit that I neglected to note what was happening here.
14. 14. whip-guy & punch counter; Woods visits Nada’s office, etc. (49, Transparent Giant (3D Tee Vee)):
All of the above comes from #49.
I think this is new.
Also #49.
To be continued--
To summarize the above, the guy was trying to escape with that mysterious coin, was killed, the cops recovered the coin, & began investigating. 考古学者の赤貝博士 (Kōkogaku-sha no akagai hakase / Professor Akagai, the archaeologist) with the big hair, is brought in to discern the coin's mystery.
I guess the part with Atom & Shibugaki at the studio is just filler, borrowed along with the following clips from #49; I really do not see any relevance with the crook confronting the director.
Next, the part beginning with Tawashi giving Atom a nude suit is so he can infiltrate the suspect business. I think it works well, here, though so far, Skunk's involvement seems out of place. After Atom confronts Skunk, he finds a reel to reel tape player, runs it, then flies away to the place where the whip guy attacks him. He is overcome, & stung many times until Higeoyaji comes & clobbers the whip guy.
After Atom arrives at the house in the next to last frame, he enters & as is obvious, is confronted by the villains.
Though many clips from various episodes are used here, they are not used in the same order as in their original episodes. For instance, the last frame here (& several the will follow in my next post) come before the whip guy's attack in the originating episode.

I think that may be because the writers were different, or, perhaps, such details were omitted because of the lack of space in the episode. As I recall, that one had little if anything that was not related to the plot. Other episodes, such as SEA SERPENT ISLAND, had a lack of relevant content, & used dancing fish as filler.

Lol yeah. There are a lot of fillers in the 60's series. Though thier wasn't much fillers in the 80s series. I can only think of two.

It does certainly vary from episode to episode, I think it does have to do with writers and how well they are able to write an episode well with the allotted time they have. This would be called story-boarding in animation terms.
Maybe the story-boarder just didn't know how to make the plot relevant for the full 20 or so minutes for various episodes and they had to figure out SOMETHING to do to fill the time. Thus - filler.

More from #49:
Except this one:
Popeye did this, but he morphed into the bowling ball:
New stuff:
This coin behaves like a black hole.
That's all for Skunk, folks!
Elsewhere:
This Lion-hair guy Hebinuma (of 7, Captain Atom; 36, The Religion of Pui Pui {The Elixir of Life}, which is based upon Whirlwind Z) & of course 58, Thirteen Mysterious Statues of God (42, The Island of Mystery), from which these next images come, is here named 'Umihebi’. He also appears in 86, Time Gun (77, Terrible Time Gun).
75, Flying City (66, Inca Gold Fever):
Don't asm me, because I just do not know what these last 4 mean.

Weird! The way that episode ended reminds me of the last Indiana Jones movie!

At least in the Indiana Jones we had a translation. Not that it helped me a lot though
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
