Thank you Fafner for letting me use your image, but I won't make a habbit of linking to your urls. ;)

 YAY!, I got my tin box today. The first episode I watched was The Time Machine and those images I posted of Princess Sapphire in black are not from the episode. So I'm thinking that it's probably from the Tezuka museum theater version.

The Time Machine is a great episode though and I really like Black Jack. He seems cold hearted at first, but he's really a nice guy. He just uses logic as a weapon like Mr. Spock from Star Trek. I love the way he "operates". He doesn't just do the surgery and ask for money later. He goes deeper and solves all the problems facing his patients.
In this case his price wasn't money, but the stupid law of Sapphire's country that says a woman can't inherit the thrown, so she's free to become Princess Sapphire(Man, who could mistake her for a boy? ;) ) Black Jack always has his patients best interest at heart. I also like how Rock was also in this, and just like in the 60's Princess Knight anime he plays a real nice guy who loves Sapphire. I also like how Uran and Black Jack's assistant Penny play together. There're so damn cute. And to top it off Tezuka himself was in it.

I also got the 60's Astro dvd box set one from Japan which has the first 30 episodes, that together with the other 60's box set 2 I have and the tin box gives me more than 100 Astro episodes to watch. Whew, I'm glad the holidays are approaching. ;)

Saionara, and thanks again Fafner.

Ah too late :D I watched the episode too and conclude the same thing as you. Maybe useless, but now that I have taken the screenshot I won't let it rot unlinked on my server, so here is it anyway ;)

Have a good look, because the next frame she takes a tree trunk in the face :P
( oh yes, the horse will have his part too ;) )
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

In addition to 'The Time Machine' episode, i believe Princess Knight also makes a cameo appearance in 'The Robot Stuntman' episode. In one scene, Uran runs past a character who looks a lot like Princess Sapphire Knight, although she appears to be wearing a space suit:

Maybe she's auditioning for a role as a Death Star Gunner? After all, this is the same scene in which many Star Wars props are seen :P

Wow! Thanks for the Princess Knight pics. Fafner and Dandemonium. Yes Dan that is Princess Sapphire. Note her Betty Boop-ish hair and her trademark ribbon on her space helmet. Just like her name in Japanese: Ribbon no Kishi(The Knight of Ribbon). I think the ribbon is her family heraldry symbol. I remember seeing some flags at her castle which used this ribbon. I love her ribbons, there're so damn cute, and if you ever see a shot of her ribbons from the back, look how well detailed they are.

*The first I in Kishi(Knight) is pronounced silently.

Bye the way. I recently watched the 60's version of The Time Machine in the raw Japanese and it also has Sapphire in it. This time she's the pilot of the time machine from the future and she takes Astro and his teacher Daddy Walrus back in time with her to help her look for her father. At the Tezuka site it says she's a boy in that episode  Huh, What?, her a boy? I know she pretends to be a boy sometimes and she's the first gender bender cartoon character like Ranma 1/2, but her face is way to girlish, and she has a very feminine woman's voice, so I can't think of her as a boy. Well whatever she's supposed to be in that episode, she's always a woman to me. ;)

Have you fine people discovered Lilz yet? Started from an attempt at "updating" Betty, and turned into a rather lucrative side-franchise for this (apparently very popular) comic / cartoonist (Who I never heard of before I discovered the Lilz..).

I find the stuff there positively wonderful. The guy IS a professional tho, so there is not a whole lot of stuff to see, and last time I was there the gallery was down, but there is enough there to get an idea of just how cool the Lilz are.
three and a half years.. for what?

Those Lilz chicks are nice, but they're no match for how cute and sexy Tezuka's chicks are. ;)

Hey all, check this out.

These are the children of Princess Sapphire Knight and Prince Franz, The Twin Knights.

Notice they look exactly like there parents. There names are at left Princess Violetta and at right Prince Daisy. DAISY? poor guy, must get beat up a lot. Just like that country song "A Boy Named Sue". But if you think that's strange look at the link:
http://en-f.tezuka.co.jp/manga/sakuhin/m04...41/m041_02.html

:o Goddess White Prince? What the hell is that?  That's funny.
Man the Japanese sure love gender bending, look at Ranma 1/2 and Mitchy from Metropolis.
In real life you have the Habuki theater in which men impersonate women and the Tarakazuka all female troupe that has women impersonating men.

The Twin Knights manga hasen't been translated yet so I can't read it. :( I do however have the 63 to 66 Princess Knight manga as well as all 52 episodes of the anime. I prefer the anime. The 60's manga is way to dark for my taste and Sapphire suffers to much. In the anime she kicks more butt and comes out on top more often.
I like to see her win, not be abused. I wonder what the 50's manga was like? I read it was in color.

Saionara.
