I'm a fan of Novacain's poetry posts,
and her poems inspired me to share too...

I'd like to share one I wrote called Our Bond.

Our Bond

So far away
So close to my heart
You've elevated my love
And made it an art
Once was afraid
To wear my heart on my sleeve
But you embraced me
And made me believe
At times it feels like
You've used magic wands
Cause I'll never forget
The depth of Our Bond

On My Arm

Life has now brought me
To such a new place
How might I put a fresh
Smile on her face
Kidnap her from sadness
And take her to fun
Find a free beach
And we'd bask in the sun
Discard neglect
And I'd give her my time
Share all my feelings
About her in rhyme
Oh how I wish I could
Make these things real
Show her with actions
The thoughts that I feel
Her vim and her vigor
Her spirit and charm
She is the Lady
I want On My Arm

Anyone like poetry?

It's going to be a year ago tomorrow... It was late and passed my bedtime, I was just going through the active threads pretty quickly. I saw this topic, "LETTER FROM EARTH". I clicked on it. Oh, a poem? I couldn't remember any poem I've ever really liked, so I started reading without paying much attention. After having read three quarters of it, I starting thinking... "hmmmm, wait...". I finished it, then read it again, and thought, wow! hmy: This is, in fact, really amazing! Then I read it again, thinking, is the author really a forum member, here? It seemed impossible!

It was only from that point that I started acknowledging poetry. I'm impressed that anyone can put together words like that. It's something I can't understand, just like how composers put together notes that make music a beautiful experience!

Your poems are beautiful, Unhurdof. I'm amazed that you can manage to say this much in so few words. I've stopped the music I was listening to, and just read. It seems like I can feel your soul.

It's interesting that you named Soul Mates. It just so happens, that I didn't believe in the concept before I met My Muse, and she stated particularly liking that one too. Thanks again for the kind words! Cheers!

I remember the first time I read Letter from Earth. It was about 6 months ago now. Long story short, it moved me to tears...and along with her other poems, it inspired me to write again for the first time after years upon years of not writing at all. It, like every other poem I've read of hers, is very well written. Any time a poet can make you feel what they felt, they've succeeded.
