Hehe, Danny you sound like a sci-fi nut! :D Not bad :3

*tolds up thumb and finger showing small space between*

Mebbe just a little..

>>>BUCKAROO BANZAI AND THE HONG KONG CAVALEERS ACCROSS THE 8TH DIMENTION<<<

Now that sounds ....weird. It can't be as bad as He-man right?

Masters of the Universe (Go you Dolf thing! ;) was one of the better 'bad movies' of the 80's (another rather suprizing support cast in this one too! Courtney Cox as a teen! ;) but Buckaroo is the best 'bad movie' of all time.

Man, I love bad movies. SOmeone start a bad movie thread please!! haha!!
(just kidding.)

Say, have you seen Barbarella? It's such a very, very bizarre film o_o

Ahh, yes.. the raunchy costumes, the horrible editing, the sexual propaganda. Poor Jane Fonda made some rather bad carreer decisions early in her quest for fame.
Short Circuit! Oh my! How could I ever forget that movie? It was just so cute and fuzzy and stuff....and when the robot goes off wearing his bandana with the failing battery (I think?) and does that whole commando action scene over the bridge/river/mass of water was heart wrenching! I won't be surprised if I got half of the sequence wrong, I haven't seen it since I was about 10 years old. I remember there was a sequel to it though.

Everything you just quoted was from the sequel. haha! The original was MUCH better, and trying desperately to keep this thread on track, kept more in line with the whole 'robotic lifeforms' concept. I mean the 'tag' for this movie was
"Number 5.. Is Alive"
I think that prety much says it all right there. It really was a fluff piece tho. Terminator 2 did a better job of breaching the 'what makes a man' type philosphy than Short Circuit did. Still, a fun move worth seeing. :)

I have found two films bearing that name, neither one dealing with machines

Incubus (1965)
The Incubus (1982).

Your description of Incubus reminds me of Demon Seed.

ok, neither of those links are the movie I was refering to. Maybe its another case of movie re-titleing that seems a lot more common than you would think.

If it helps, the movie I was referring to I believe was based on a Dean Koontz book (I love this mans work! ;) and I think the star was Barbara Seagul or Julie Christy (yes, that Julie Christy). It has been maybe 15 years or more since I saw this movie tho, so you have to forgive any lapses in memory reguarding it. :P

edit:
I just remembered it WAS julie Christy. I was confusing this movie with another simillar one called THE ENTITY which starred Barbara Seagull. That should help you track it down if you are interested.

in the entity, it is a 'ghost' or 'poltergiest' that kept attacking this particular woman. Its nothing to do with artificial Intelligence or Robotic Issues, so don't bother with it unless you wanna be creaped out by the awsome spfx.

==

No one has mentioned 'War Games' yet. Alley Sheedy and Mathew Broderick trying to stop an AI nuking the world. Height of Cold War america peace propaganda flick tho, so not what you would call 'stimulating discussion material' by any streach of the imagination.

Hehe :P My parent's must've swapped the titles when they recorded both movies for me off tv  As for the other short circuit...I remember something with the military *blink*

Terminator is another good movie, but I'm sure everyone agrees with me :)
