jeffbert: Probably the departure of the chubby cheeks was a conscious creative decision in favor of portraying Astro as somewhere closer to an adolescent than a child.

Hey Dragonrider1227, thats Japan for you. They are into the "Kawai" stuff, hence the adding of plumpness to Astro's romp. Speaking of arse, I'm surprise they kept the butt cannon. I wonder how the movie is going to handle this somewhat ackward concept into the story.
